Four Lions plus Q&A with Chris Morris, Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain
Fri 7 May 2010

Chris Morris gave us an exclusive onstage interview on Four Lions' Opening Night
Co-presented by Barbican Film
A meticulously researched and intelligently scripted tale following four bungling British jihadists as their dreams of extremist glory fall apart.
With a proven history of treating the most sensitive topics to his own brand of controversial absurdist comedy, Chris Morris ventures where others fear to tread. This meticulously researched and intelligently scripted tale follows four bungling British jihadists as their dreams of extremist glory fall apart. Equally appealing to In the Loop fans and those who prefer their politics subtle and their comedy riotous, this risqué film starring Riz Ahmed (Shifty) and Nigel Lindsey, has genuine warm humour at its heart.

Four LionsWe’re delighted that after this special opening night screening of Four Lions we will be joined for an on-stage conversation with debut feature director Chris Morris (writer/director of TV classics from The Day Today, Brass Eye and Jam to Nathan Barley) who has redefined British comedy over the last 15 years. Chris will be joined by Oscar and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop), and BAFTA-winning co-writer Sam Bain (Peep Show, Smack The Pony, The Thick of It).

What the press say:
“…one of the most original, provocative and enduring comedies of the early 21st century”. (Empire)
"Four Lions is a hilarious farce and a brilliant takedown of the imbecility of fanaticism. Morris' dialogue is dagger sharp and laced with droll comedy”. (Hollywood Reporter)
