Nimer Rashed

Nimer started making short films while at university, when he also worked for Miramax Films in London, Cannes and New York. Since then, he’s won several writing awards, including the Sir Peter Ustinov Scriptwriting Award and Soho Theatre’s Westminster Prize. He now works as a script consultant for Warner Bros and Working Title, and is thrilled to be making his first short with Film London.

Nimer has been selected onto the Digital Shorts Scheme with the project Baghdad Express

Baghdad Express is the story of MAYA, a young Iraqi girl who works in the kitchen of her father's restaurant on Edgware Road. When she applies to a fashion school to pursue her dream of becoming a designer, Maya’s forced to decide which comes first: her dreams or her family.
