Not one, but four!

We are pleased to announce our selection for The Serious Screenwriting Development Scheme and even more pleased that it’s not just one writer, but four! The 120 entries we received this year were of a staggeringly high standard and represented an unprecedented level of talent, commitment and genuinely cinematic ideas. With so many writers clearly deserving of the support that the Development Scheme offers, we were delighted to be able to offer three extra places on the programme thanks to support from the Skillset Film Skills Fund.
Even with four places to fill it was nearly impossible to whittle down the shortlist but the final selected four are:
Sonya Desai
Chris Bacon
Jamie Crichton (who also won the Moviescope Screenwriting Challenge at Serious Screenwriting)
Paul Valnay
Huge congratulations to each of the selected writers who all win 12 months of individual script development, free attendance on Script Factory training courses, a £1000 bursary, lunch with Simon Beaufoy and a guarantee that at the end of the process their scripts will be read by an established UK Producer.
Thank you to everyone who entered the scheme. It was truly a privilege to read your work and we wish you every success for the future.
