Development Services at The Script Factory
We are making some slight changes to the services we offer from January 2012 so please read carefully for details of the service you require.
SCRIPT REPORTS
We continue to offer high quality script reports to writers on either short or feature length projects. These reports are written by freelance readers who are currently working widely across the industry. All have been trained by The Script Factory to provide intelligent, considered and constructive feedback. Many are graduates of our Script Development Diploma.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Script Factory report has been designed to ensure clear communication about the potential strengths of a screenplay and the source of any weaknesses observed in the current draft. The report contains a short synopsis of the main story idea and then offers a thorough analysis of the dramatic and thematic strength of the idea, the impact of the structural choices that the writer has made and some consideration of the characters and their appropriateness to the story being told. The reader may also make some comments or observations on the craft elements of the script, such as the dialogue, the pacing of the story and the visual grammar. Our intention is to generate a constructive and helpful document for the writer, which will enable him or her to make the best decisions in moving forward to the next draft.
HOW TO GET A SCRIPT REPORT
From January 2012 The Script Factory will only accept scripts electronically. Please attach it to an email as a pdf (not word or final draft or any other application). Send your email to lucy@scriptfactory.co.uk
In the email please include:
Your name
Your address
Your mobile phone number
Once we receive the script, it will be sent on a clean email to the reader.
The report takes approximately 3 weeks from the date we receive the script.

Feature script up to 120 pages £150 + vat = £180
Feature script between 121 – 150 pages £200 + vat = £240
Short script up to 30 pages £100 + vat = £120

The polite and downright honest criticism has opened my eyes. I was dubious at the beginning that paying to have my script read by someone was the right thing to do. I can now say that it's actually quite an amazing feeling to know that I can hold my script in one hand and the winning formula, with which to develop it, in the other. I was instantly rewriting and drafting new thoughts out in my head as I was reading the report!
