Getting professional feedback on your script before you start submitting it to potential producers or funders is essential. The Script Factory's Development Feedback Service can provide you with a detailed report that highlights the strengths and weaknesses of your current draft and indicates areas which may need further development.
Our reports are broken down to offer firstly an analysis of the story idea, including a brief synopsis, a section on the premise or idea of the film and a section assessing how well the story is structured. We then turn our attention to the technical screenwriting elements of the script and offer comments under the headings of character, dialogue, visual grammar and pace. Script Factory reports are specifically designed this way in order to clearly identify the source of any problems in the script. Our aim is to help the writer plan the next draft.
All our readers are highly trained, experienced freelancers who read widely across the industry. They are therefore well placed to provide a fair analysis of how well your script stands up against the current market.
HOW TO SUBMIT
To submit your Screenplay for a Feedback Report simply download and complete a Feedback Submission Form (this is a Word Document), and post it, along with payment to:

Please note that page numbers on the script are essential: we are unable to offer feedback on scripts without them. Please also format your script as close to the industry standard as possible. Click here for guidelines on formatting.
Feedback Report Fees submitted by post:
Feature script (under 120 pages): £100 + VAT (Total £117.50 )
Feature scripts (over 120 pages - max 150 pages): £110 + VAT (Total £129.25)
Short Film script (max 30 pages): £75 + VAT (Total £88.13)
Feedback Report Fees submitted by email:
Feature script (under 120 pages): £107.20 + VAT (Total £125.96)
Feature scripts (over 120 pages - max 150 pages): £119 + VAT (Total £ 139.83)
Short Film script (max 30 pages): £76.80 + VAT (Total £90.24)
Payment can made by sending a cheque made payable to The Script Factory or, alternatively, please supply your credit/debit card details, including expiry date and 3-digit security code found on the back strip of your card. Feedback Reports normally take 4 weeks.
Please note: IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO RETURN YOUR SCREENPLAY YOU NEED TO INCLUDE A SAE WITH THE APPROPRIATE POSTAGE

The polite and downright honest criticism has opened my eyes. I was dubious at the beginning that paying to have my script read by someone was the right thing to do.
