She Writes - shortlist selected!

Double heroines: Julie & Julia
Thu, 18 Feb 2010
After much agonising we have now selected a shortlist for our major programme She Writes - targeted directly at women screenwriters, co-presented together with our partners at Birds Eye View and supported by the Skillset Film Skills Fund. The shortlist has all been notified and everyone who applied should now have heard from us by email. If for some reason you have not yet heard from us you might check your spam folder - and if still no word, do please email us at SheWrites@scriptfactory.co.uk and we'll re-send. Thanks to everyone who applied - the response has been amazing! The programme caters for eight 'emerging' women writers who will join us over the course of 2010 - we'll announce the winners shortly.
The programme gives 8 writers the opportunity to join us for a residential retreat, two specialist workshops in London, enjoy a relationship with an industry mentor, gain a better understanding of how the film industry works, have exclusive access to industry and training events, and the opportunity to workshop a feature screenplay project with actors. If you missed out on applying this time - or are simply on tenterhooks waiting to hear about your application, you may also be intersted in reading more about another programme which puts women in the spotlight - WRITING THE HEROINE'S STORY with Helen Jacey - which we are running this March. A practical and timely two day workshop designed to help screenwriters and development professionals grapple with the creation of unique, compelling and emotionally complex female protagonists. And if that's not your thing, we've also announced a range of new dates for Film, TV and Radio Training coming up over the next few months - have a look at what's on offer by clicking here.
